Exhibition: Healing prayers

Exhibition: Healing Prayers

Healing Prayers will be exhibited at the Brighton Art Book Fair on 5 and 6 December 2026 at Phoenix Art Space.

This exhibition forms part of a deeply personal journey for the artist, Yoneko. During a prolonged period of illness, she found solace, resilience, and hope through the creative process. Her exploration of Momigami, a traditional Japanese paper technique, became an anchor during a profoundly challenging time, offering both comfort and a means of expression.

Through “Healing Prayers”, Yoneko reflects on healing, perseverance, and the quiet strength that art can provide in moments of uncertainty. The works presented invite viewers into a space of contemplation, transformation, and renewal, demonstrating how creativity can sustain and guide us through life's most difficult passages.

Steyning art trail and Adur art trail 2025

In 2025, Yoneko participated for the second consecutive year in the Steyning Art Trail, where her work with Momigami—the Japanese art of kneaded paper—was warmly received by visitors. This year also marked a significant milestone in her artistic journey, as she debuted in the Adur Art Trail, further consolidating her reputation as one of the few artists in the region specializing in Momigami. These exhibitions have helped establish Yoneko as a distinctive voice in the local art scene, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility.
