Dreaming
Dreaming while awake, I see shapes and colours.
I see myself and you, I see the children we once were. I see the children within us. I see the souls beyond the strong facade, the grey hair, the wrinkles, and tired eyes.

I used to tell my students to see the person beyond history, race and religion, and I stand by it. I stand by those words FIRMLY today more than ever.

We need to embrace each other, we need to find us in the other.
Their pain is our pain.
And
Their suffering is our suffering.
Even if we think their “situation” is far away, and it doesn’t touch us. Or concern us. Their pain is our pain. And the universe brings their pain into our lives one way or another.
We are all connected.
We are children of the universe.
We are souls. We are connected.
We are all one.
